I run mostly 3-2 dollar and debating on how to set up my d-lineman for pass rush and run stop. Do you use traditional RE/LE/DT at these positions? Or do you use OLB at end? My DT has to have inside stuff, so that is a DT for sure. But do you see more success with someone like Garrett/Strahan on the ends or some OLBs rushing instead?
I like to go one big DT with inside stuff if you can afford it and then two fast high PMV (over FMV if you need to make the choice) OLB's, thibodeaux was good for me, but I'm running Derrick Thomas and Micah at Rush LE/RE right now. I run 2-4 nickle so my line currently is Gravedigger and reggie white (All-Madden) at DT and then Derrick Thomas and Micah at the DE positions. Just depends on what you like to run, after the patch seems like 4 man fronts get more pressure consistently for me. ONE BIG TIP: look at the traits on your passrushers. If they have low FMV, but have the swim move trait marked "yes" then if they are CPU controlled they might spam that move to no effect. Best to have the traits align with whichever they are best at PMV/FMV. If they are 90/90 for both then you don't need to worry about traits as much. Also, rotate your guys by subbing them to different spots so the oline doesn't build too high of resistance. Defensive rally, Double or nothing and Unpredictable have been the best pass rush abilities for me this year. Edge threat seems to not be worth the high AP cost. Hope this helps, my Dline following these tips generally gets about 3-4 sacks a game in H2H.
