i spent almost 2 hours last night trying to figure out which playbooks OFF and DEF has more options as far as plays anyone have any suggestions?
On D, the multiple defense playbook is probably where I would start if you're interested in having a lot of different formations.
I'm not sure which offense would be the best for what you described.
I personally like the patriots defense. I like the options of the 6-1 or 3-4 odd, 3-4 bear. The nickel options are a slight knock for a lot of people here but the vast majority of the time, I'm coming out in the nickel 3-3 odd as I find it gets the most pressure and aligns roughly how I would set up a 3-3 normal or whatever anyways. Not many would agree with that, but it's what works for me so meh. Still has the 2-4 and 2-4 double mug which I still would use sometimes. Now, what sets this one apart is the dime formations and quarter 1-3-7 being an option. They all really do come in handy for me when I know they're passing on 3rd or 4th and 20 or more after the nickel 3-3 odd pressure I put on. There are other options for this type of philosophy though, such as the multiple as the last person mentioned, the 46 or the chiefs playbook.
As far as offense goes, this varies a lot, but I would suggest messing around a bit with different options and finding out what you like before you find the playbook that has the best options for it. Jets have really solid variety to start with.
