Xbox Series S/X came out 3 years ago = Current Gen
Whatever Xbox that come out in 5 years = Next Gen

Series S or Series X are both considered next gen, and will help eliminate the lagging menus. But if you're going to spend money, I suggest getting the Series X. Performance is better than the Series S.

On this note, I got a somewhat related question. I got the PC version but have wanted a console for a while because it would be cool to do some gaming off of the PC sometimes (I'm just a tech addict like that) so the big question...Xbox series X, or PS5? What's the performance of M24 like on these? And maybe any testaments to the consoles otherwise. The list of pros and cons that I personally can come up with are pretty extensive and basically a wash to me.

I think you lose your entire team and coin balance. This is the only reason I haven't upgraded yet.

No you need a xbox series s or Xbox series x. Like someone else said the x is more powerful performance wise and the series s is all digital

How long are we calling it Next Gen? It was next Gen the first year or two. We’re about to be 3 years in.

XboxOne is OLD GEN
XBox Series S or X is CURRENT GEN.
I play the OLD GEN version of the game on my CURRENT GEN console because I prefer the faster style of game play. But even though I am on the newer console... the menu lag has been really bad since the patch. So I think it's more the version of the game than the console.
I'd rather deal with the lag than play the slow CURRENT GEN version of the game where defense is nearly impossible against good players. But the lack of the companion app.... new abilities not being a thing on the OLD GEN version... and now bad menu lag is making me think this could be my last year of MUT.

What content will carry over if I upgrade to a next generation console?
- Franchise & Face of the Franchise: Franchise & Face of the Franchise specifics do not carry over, so you’ll get the chance to rebuild and recreate your team/career with incredible updates on the newest consoles.
- Madden Ultimate Team: Everything in Madden Ultimate Team carries over EXCEPT progress in competitive modes.
- The Yard: All progression in The Yard carries over.
