The memory for the series S is a deal breaker cause alot of games are getting the x/s optimization tag. Also I heard they are bringing out a 1tb series S on September 1st so if I was going to buy a S I might as well just wait for that 1tb one. I may just go with the series X though and be done with it. Even though I don't have a 4k tv the extra memory and the X being pretty much future proof is what made my mind up. If I did buy a series S with only the 365gb memory and paid the.outrageous amount of money for an official memory stick that plays x/s optimized games then I'd pretty much be paying for a series X. I may end up getting a 4k tv eventually but its not a priority. Also from what ive heard the series S isn't even much more powerful than an Xbox one X.
I think you should just stick to a X unless you see some major reason to upgrade
If you want to be able to ever use a disk (I have a ton of movies) X is better.
If you want the better console X is better.
If youre only playing Madden and doing very minimal else, the S is probably fine.
But if you want to upgrade your new system when they come out immediately, get the S. If you want to wait to see if it goes down, get the X itll have more staying power.
I'm going to go with the series X. I only have the original xbox one which is still a great console but I'm upgrading in time for Madden 24. The deal breaker for me against the series S is the terrible 365gb of memory it has which would fill up immediately for me. I don't want to wait another month for the 1tb series S and figure I'll pay the extra money for the extra memory along with a future proof system that's more powerful. Plus I'll eventually get a 4k tv down the line so I think I'm going with the Series X.
