As an old gen player every team needs a left footed punter or KOS to at least have a chance at countering the FG block glitch. I have Tress Way as my punter even over the new 99 free Punter with all team chems cause Way is a Lefty and I can sub him in for Gay to kick PA's or FG's sometimes. I even spend my 2ap on special teams on Tress Way just to slow down his meter. It works against the FG block for the most part even though if your opponent knows you have a lefty then all they need to do is flip the FG block play. Which are the other Punters or even kickers that are left footed? I could use the new 99 Punter and put Way as my KOS but I prefer Gay there cause he has higher KPW and it saves me 1 of 3 specialist spits but would add 1 to my TT. Just didnt know if there were any leftys higher than Tress Way?
Scottish Hammer is a Lefty. A lot of people use him on old gen for the exact reason your explaining.

I posted about this on Muthead a full 8 months ago with a thread titled: "The FG Block Exploit is rampant now on Old Gen XB1..."
That's where I first learned about using a lefty Punter and subbing him in for extra points and short FGs. Tress Way was the only option back then, but he could only be used from inside the 24 yard line. But eventually we got the Scottish Hammer who is solid from inside the 34 yard line. There are no better options this year.
I would say I face people trying to block kicks in over half my games now. Only a handful seem to know how to block it from the right side when you're using a lefty kicker (then you have to play a guessing game and switch back and forth between lefty and righty kickers). I had one guy yesterday actually loop around my Tackle from the left side and block my kick. Literally the first one all year. He got a super speed boost and timed it just right... but I still smoked him.
Also... just FYI... there's a punt block glitch that is not counterable on old gen. If your opponent knows how to do this, you basically can't punt in those games (even if you use the "Punt Tight" formation)... otherwise it's almost always a TD the other way.

95% of punt blocks miss. Tight makes it harder. If their coming close I'll sub in Legatron because he's RIGHT footed. Old gen, use ur punter for FGs and Kicker for punts.
It's actually pretty easy to block punts on old gen. And if you come out in Safe Man Right it's just as easy to block lefty FGs.
Hell... I've ven had guys block Scottish Hammer FGs with Safe Man Left. They either toggle over to the right side and do the same cheese... or one guy even blocked me from the left by looping around my tackle.

Yeah it's funny the whole mind game that can be played. Some guys come out expecting you to use a lefty now. I remember one time this happened my opponent came out ready to block my lefty and I called a timeout and still used my lefty kicker and my opponent had flipped the play expecting me to use a righty 😆. Honestly the FG Block glitch has helped me out more than its hurt me this year but its still ridiculous that they left it in the game
