I only attempt it if they've already successfully done it to me. It might be dumb but it’s in the game, I just feel like its so different from an X factor back or from like a deep crossing route because this is DEFINITELY not like, at all similar to something that happens in football
Only on old Gen? I haven't had any kicks blocked on ps5
No it's not cheating. That's my only major gripe with old gen is them leaving it in the game. Just about everyone tries to do it. The only ways you can try to counter it is to get a left footed punter and sub them in on XP or FG's and to let the clock run down and let your opponent wear out their button but its so easy to do that it's just best to use a lefty punter and sub them in and then if you have to kick another XP or FG to switch it up and use your righty kicker. Also getting good at 2pt plays can help. Them leaving this FG block glitch in is the most disrespectful thing I've ever seen a video game company do especially after charging near full price for the game. I'll be on new gen come madden 24 though but I think madden 23 old gen is a great game other than them leaving that in.
In a close game you can no longer get inside the 30, run out the clock and kick what I call the game winning "cheapsot" FG. Now its better to score TDs. If you opponent has a pro controller your not kicking any FG no matter if your kicker is left-footed, right-footed or drop-footed.
I deal with it alot I just kick on my first td to see if they got it or not.
I've absolutely lost games matching their 2plint conversations and then having a game winning or late or before the half ect fg blocked and return. Nothing better then an 11-8 lead turning into a 16-8 halftime hole lol

Yes only on old gen
Its cheating plain and simple. EA patched it on Current Gen which means we're not supposed to be able to do it.
And the people in this thread trying to justifying doing it by saying "Everyone can do it so it's okay that I do it " really nails the coffin as to why Madden and its player base heading in the wrong direction. Its that same exact mindset why 99.99% of the player base run the same three brain dead schemes repeating steps from the video.
Y'all need to eat some more moral fiber in your diet.

if they’re doing it to you it’s fine
if you do it first, you’re a scum bag and I dont wanna be like you, and I’ll raise my children to not be like you, but it’s fully allowed
cheating would be if they were going outside the rules of the game to do it
perhaps we’re using different definitions?
I've blocked a FG many times but is there like a specific play to do it easily? Also, there was this one time where I was playing against my dad and he was going to kick the game-winning FG and I blocked it and returned it for a TD so we didn't have to do overtime.

If they're doing it to you then that makes them cheaters, If you do it too that also makes you a cheater.
Cheating is cheating.
I don't think we have different definitions, I think we hold ourselves to different standards.

that’s ontological
the definition I have submitted is cheating is working outside the rules of the game
there is no rule against this field goal block, I just am Of the belief that it’s not chill to do and i don’t wanna do it unless they do it
what definition are you using?

It's not ontological. Its rooted in factual logic.
EA patched it, they thought it gave said person who used it an unfair advantage against the other player. It quite literally stated on their website that abusing exploits is cheating.

And if we're going to get specific reason why EA did not and are not going patch it on Old Gen is because they're discontinuing Old Gen Madden soon.

I see what you’re saying. There’s a reason I don’t do it. But if someone does it to me I think the moral imperative is excused. I still usually don’t do it but just cos it isn’t a fun way to play

So you agree then it's cheating.
If you feel the need to cheat to win a game that's on you and making excuses as to why you do it only refects the level of crass that encompasses the Madden player base..
