Why does deep route K.O beat deep out elite

Shouldn’t be a 50-50 why does deep out KO always beat deep route KO?  It seems the deep out always beats it so when does the ability supposed to work?

Just how the game works this year KOs tend to win over almost everything if they activate. Hopefully, it's more balanced in 24. You still want to run the abilities like deeo out to improve your miniscule chances.

I think activation of each depends if the player is in zone or man.

So I apologize in advance if this is a dumb question but I’m considering a switch to man. Does DRKO cover everything shorter than 20 yds too? I get it if you put SRKO and they go deep, it won’t activate. But what about the routes shorter than deep? Will it activate then?
