I like to play match coverage. However, I have been burned numorous times when their are 3 WR on one side of the field and I am in Cover 4 Quarters. When I face Bunch or Single Back Wing Pair (TE Attack), the Safety on the 3 WR side is supposed to match/man-up the #2 WR if he gets 10-12 yard vertical. Well, the Safety has got confused a bunch of times for me. I like to use this against bunch as on the solo outside WR side I man him up with my outside CB, then I user the Safety on that side and watch for the deep crosser from the Bunch side. But cant do that. Also, sometimes the Quarter Flat even matched and runs with a vertical route. Not sure why. He is just supposed to pass him off. Id say since ive been using it heavily I have been burned for a wide open TD a handful of times already.
Did you turn on match in coach settings before each game?
Yes I have it on.
Are you making any sort of adjustments such as shading or changing the zones any of the players are playing? From what I know, if you make any of those adjustments it changes the rules on how match plays
I run all match quarters, palms and 6/9 and never have a problem. What's the play rec on the safety in question?
Went 21-4 last week, 20-5 pervious before that. Been my scheme all year.
You have to know your adjustments verse certain formations and what match coverage to call verse certain formations. Yes, you have to adjust some zones or you’ll get one played. Can’t run just stock match.
