Of course EA has decided to give Joe Burrow a 97 OVR AKA card two days after TOTY voting begins, meaning that plenty of people have either voted (or used bots to vote) for yet another guy who will be getting a duplicate card.
I guess that we have to pray now that Josh Allen or Justin Herbert don't get another upgrade and that they get more TOTY votes than Burrow, Mahomes, and Hurts.
More votes than Fields too. Imagine being the TOTY QB on a team that is getting the number one pick.
There's just no thought into releases or attempting to give outdated players higher overall cards. Mahomes and Hurts already have multiple high cards, Burrow is about to get his. Tyreek, Jefferson, AJ Brown all have new, good cards. Kittle and Kelce. Jason Kelce. Fred Warner, Reddick, Nick Bosa, Crosby, Surtain, Gilmore, Charvarius Ward, Gardner..... TOTY voting is just filllllllled with players that already have 96's or higher. Didn't even list anyone that already has at least a 95 either.
So many bad options. Honestly, I'd say about 35-40% of them choices are already 96-97's in the game. The Mahomes pick is a joke. Ain't no way that the company cant substitute out him for a different card at QB that had a decent year that wasn't Pat.
let's be honest... EA has the right to pick who they want at the end of the day. In the rules it straight up says "POSSIBLE INPUT FROM EA" at this point... any 96-97, i just don't think are in the running
It's like they have different teams working on content and they don't communicate with each other. Im sure some stiff in a suit has explained it away to whoever is in charge and they have greenlighted it because no one there knows football.

I sure hope so. I've been of the opinion that EA should just override the entire voting process and pick players who actually need upgrades.
The whole thing is a fiasco.
It’s frustrating that we couldn’t pick who we wanted really because a lot of them were only 1 choice because the rest had big upgrades. i hate to say it but I think most of these cards will play the same because they will all have very similar stats. Them trying to give pass rushers and linebackers duplicates is the worst part because those players actually play different because they arent all 97 speed with short in elite for 0 ap. I don’t think they will give us any duplicates though because they make the decisions not the community. If they do have a duplicate I hope nyheim Hines takes one for the team
I now assume either Humphrey or Andrews will be a Team Diamond / Team Builder this week with their 93 and 92 respectively. Same for Herbert (who had a rather mediocre season actually) and Allen (who was on fire in the first half so at least makes sense to give him a TOTY). Just EA screwing with our good intentions.
At this point I expect more TOTY nominees will get upgrades prior to the TOTY voting results being revealed.

And thats why they " pushed them back" to not have that but gave more than 60% of cards already over 95 a pick...
