Re: Madden 23 MUT Quarterbacks releases- Next Gen

When I tested releases this year, I threw 3 short, 3 medium, and 4 long passes for each qb. Depending on the release, some qb releases will feel faster when throwing short compared to other qbs with different releases.
MarkMagic10 said:Hey, hope you are having a great day. Wondering if this is only short passes? I really like Lamar's deep release and feel like slinger 3 should be higher. I used slinger 2 all year since I am a Mahomes die-hard and liked it a lot. I feel the deep on that is smooth but slinger 3 is a little more fluent.
Re: Madden 23 MUT Quarterbacks releases- Next Gen

I don't know because I haven't tested releases on old gen. If I can make a guess, I would assume they have been the same for the last couple of maddens.
TomBradyDots said:So are the releases on old gen the same as they’ve been or is this representative of old gen as well?

thanks for letting me know man
maxredbolt said:Great work JDAWG, interesting comparison and analysis.
I did note a calculation error in the spread sheet though. The calculated speed for slinger 1 is .711 but your trial s average out to .797, likewise the traditional 3 figures to 1.011 a slight bit faster than the chart shows at 1.056.
Adjusting for these corrections: Slinger 1 is still by far the fastest release followed by:
Traditional 2 -11% slower
Generic 3 - 23% slower
Traditional 1 - 24% slower
Slinger 2- 24% slower
Traditional 3- 27% slower
Generic 2- 29% slower
Slinger 3- 30% slower
Slinger 4- 33% slower
Traditional 4- 34% slower
Generic 1- 34% slower
Traditional 5- 44% slower

Re: Current NFL QB throwing types and Release times

I'm counting frames in a video editor and finding out release times for both gen of Madden 22 and comparing them to Madden 20/21.
muirhaman said:undoubtedly an important topic. thanks for sharing. with how much power in game comes with the quickest releases, the right QB can often boost a poor player into the stratosphere.
one request, though, please include methodology. the "eyeball" test is so subjective, as we can all see from the replies above. themarksman13 certainly was using actual data with release times to create the table you include.
Re: Current NFL QB throwing types and Release times

I'm in the process of collecting all legends/past qbs and testing out their releases right now.
kaotikords said:Have you tested Vick yet?
Im using Lamar over Vick currently and his throw is REALLY slow as I saw but was wondering how much faster he was. May power down Lamar and go for someone else until Vick gets a higher card.
Re: Current NFL QB throwing types and Release times

At this moment I don't know. Trying to find an accuracy way to get past/legends qb releases. According to last year he had Slinger 2 .
Buxter said:what is vicks? he feels super slow to me
Re: Current NFL QB throwing types and Release times

Marino and Rodgers can get passing abilities that mariota can't. With certain passing abilities such as PLE, gunslinger, and SFL it's a increase in the release time compared to running the qb with no abilities.
trumpetmonkey said:Hi mate!
So does this mean Mariota has the same release as Rodgers and Marino?
In game it feels slower: but now I am doubting my own eyes!? :DMonkey
Re: Current NFL QB throwing types and Release times

Technically it's slinger 2 from last year but I wanted to be 100% accurate because a lot of qbs throwing types have changed this year.
jaybird said:I'll ask because i know anyone who looks in this thread will want to know....
What's Romo's release?
