My NFL honors hot takes

MVP: My hottest take on this list but hear me out. MVP is supposed to go to the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, meaning a player who absolutely carried their team. I don’t think that Lamar Jackson should really be in the conversation. The ravens are a great team, even without Lamar I still think they could pull off a 9-8 or 10-7 record. A team like the bills or the eagles would not have done anywhere near as good without their best player. Many people thought that the bills dynasty was over after they lost several key pieces, then Josh Allen carried them to arguably one of their best seasons yet. Saquan Barkley has single handedly take the eagles to the Super Bowl with one of the best running back seasons in nfl history. Because of this, I think that the MVP should be Saquon Barkley. This award should be based on which player is most valuable to their organization, not on individual stats.

OPOY: This award, on the other hand should be fully stat based, that is why (assuming Saquon gets MVP) Ja’marr Chase is the obvious choice 

DPOY: Not gonna say much here, Kerby Joseph was the only Lions db to stay healthy the entire season, and he led the league in interceptions

horrible take on mvp, eagles without saquon are still sb contenders. the have the best oline and defense (whole season) in the league with a QB that can win and a top 7 wr.

if the ravens never fixed the defense and Lamar wasn't on the team, I think we win 5 games max. with the fixed defense I think we win 7, titans Henry couldn't get shit done vs the Steelers or browns

Eagles are SB contenders without or without Barkley, they have an amazing team. they are the NFL version of the Celtics IMO.

an interesting stat I saw was that Lamar Jackson is 0-5 when have a QBR less than 114, Allen is 5-2 with a QBR less than 114 (4 games under 80). that kinda makes the "Allen is doing more with less" arguement out the window. Lamar has to play perfect for the Ravens to have a chance at winning, Allen doesnt.

Glad there are still people in the world who can just agree to disagree. 

I still think saquon should be mvp because I think the eagles are vastly overrated (especially Jalen hurts) 

I had not seen the stat you mentioned before,  I don’t follow the ravens hardly at all so I have only seen a few games. I see now why you think that way. I also think  i may be biased beca I just don’t like Lamar’s play style, and voter fatigue is annoying.

same, people need to learn that other people think differently and that they aren't always correct.

 while I don't think Jalen is top 5, he gets the job done. he has a top 3 WR duo to throw to and an insane offensive line to block for him. The defense under Fangio has taken a huge step up as well. last year they were 10-1 before completely falling apart and lost to the Bucs first round, but before that they were in the SB.

lamar has the talent around him, but didn’t miles sanders run for 1,200 yards behind that o line?
