What's everyone's thoughts on Skill-based matchmaking?

It seems like every game I play this year is a sweat/pro player.  I don't mind because I enjoy being challenged and getting better...but the 2K community seems to be really up in arms about it.

A lot of high level 2K players seem to believe they deserve to get to pick on casual gamers when they don't want to sweat.  They are crying because they only get matched up with similar skill level players.  How absurd.

The Madden community may be somewhat scummy with all the glitching/exploits...but at least most of the top players don't complain about having to play other good players.

Allegedly there is some type of skill based match-making in Ranked play.  Overall, i've found the online H2H MUT25 experience to be abysmal, which really bites, because that is/was the primary reason i play this game.  I haven't really played enough online to gauge this year.

Beyond any skill level from opponents, it's difficult for me to consider anything about this game as truly "competitive" as there is far too much randomness in gameplay.  Nothing is fair, nor balanced, let alone fun and competitive.  YMMV, but the top 100 players in the world should be playing against one another.  I see dudes who are serious about the Ranked play to invest some time trolling through various streamers trying to hedge their bets to ensure they get matched up with what they feel is "appropriate" (i.e. easy?) from their perspective.  Not everyone, but it's also not unheard of.

It’s unnecessarily difficult this year which is the problem. I was in MVP in 24 but I’m struggling this year because every game no matter the division feels like the Super Bowls last year. The Sbmm is way too strict right now. when I was in Silver and Gold I should been playing silver and gold players not cracked users with every shitburner play on YouTube in their playbooks.

Also feels like the worst teams have this crazy advantage. I have an 86 defense and 84 offenses are blowing me out of the water.. Winning the trenches, cornerbacks all the sudden can't cover, getting beat deep by guys with 85 SPD even while pass commiting.
