Playmaker an ability now?

I just noticed when the pocket breaks down that flicking r3 does nothing.  Is playmaker a different button?

If I'm not mistaken, you need to hold LT/L2 and flick the right stick for it to work now

with them bringing back skill moves to the backfield as a QB they had to change it

What exactly does that mean? Qb can spin or juke freely in the backfield?
