Any team-building tips for a NMS newb? I know not to buy packs (except for that daily 500 one).

is it smart to build sets? Doesn’t seem worth it because of the cost. How much money do some of you all spend (No judging, it’s your money). Also, i did two sets to advance a field pas and why do those cards traded in show in my inventory in the catalog?

Some sets can be profitable, I made a crazy amount from doing the campus heros Logan mankins set when he was still going for alot. I'd recommend finding a set for a card thats expensive and then just crunching some numbers to see if its profitable

It can be smart to build sets. It just depends on if you can get all the pieces at a good price. I believe the best way to profit from sets this year is to prebuild them. Prebuilding is when you buy most/all of the pieces needed for the set a few days early when they're cheaper and then wait for the set to go live and sell the item you get for completing the set. Other sets can be profitable too but you usually have to look for them.

In general if you're nms, you either need to grind h2h or work the market to maintain a good coinstack.

So, only building sets when it’s profitable and then selling that piece. Not necessarily to use that player.

Do you sell/quicksell all your cards not in your lineup? Even the BNDs you don’t currently use? Any reason to keep them? I see the Jettas and Sauce would be improved if you held on to the preorder. Is it smart to keep BND cards you don’t use or just sell for training? Like TOTW cards that I got for doing the challenges? Quicksell or keep for some reason?

How about the core cards? Those are the basic cards that are in packs all year, right? Does EA ever update those cards? For instance, in The Show, the base cards might get updated at different times of the year.

Core cards do not receive upgrades. The players represented on each card may get an upgrade from a different program, but not the core card itself.
