Is madden worth buying at this point in the year?

I have been playing CFB all year but want to know if madden is still worth picking up or if I should wait til next year.

Probably not, especially if you're gonna play MUT.

It just turned a corner and you really need all of the new cards to be competitive. Cards released during the SB had some chem/ability boosts, but the new combine cards they released have the abilities on steroids. And with every player having abilities, you will need abilities on your team to counter them or it's hard to complete (ie. so many players now have Avalanche on defense and if you don't have Tank, you'll be fumbling every play). The new cards are so expensive so if you don't have a massive coin stack at this point, I don't know how you would field a competitive team.

Thank you I didn't know if I would be able to keep up because on xbox the deluxe edition is $30 so I thought the points it comes with might be enough to buy some back and maybe make enough to have a good team.

If youre willing to buy coins, yeah. But if just starting, good luck being competitive. 97 ovr teams + rn

With the deluxe edition, you'll get about $45 worth of points if I remember correctly. EA has gotten pretty stingy with the packs. $25 packs will get you 3-6 cards. There are some $50 packs that'll get you not that many more cards, just better chances of pulling higher overalls. Unless you pulled a really pricey card, those free points won't really field you a team. Earlier in the year, there have been some packs that were better value, but right now all the diehards are playing and EA is trying to squeeze water out of a rock.
