How often do people sell their team?

I've only been playing MUT for around 6 months. I've spent years playing Fifa Ultimate Team and on that game you can get away with having cards in your line up for 2 -3 months before they feel out dated. 

With the way the power curve is on MUT and how abilities are important, how often do people change their team up?

Since I'm not very good at the game, I've been trading out my non bnd players in the skill positins after 2 weeks max as it feels like there's always better cards with better abilities coming out. 

Is thsr just due to the time of the year? Or is this game a constant rug pull?

I don’t play FIFA but I play madden. And honestly, I feel like there’s two answers. You can wait and see if better players come in and fit your team team. But EA sports tend to lean towards select teams once it starts getting towards the end of the year that are typically much stronger than the rest. At least for my experience playing online. Sometimes it’s good to change with the times but it’s totally up to you my guy.

I've never sold off my team, I keep cards I enjoy using. Buy and sell whenever I feel a change is needed. From what I understand the Easter promo will crash alot of card values, when eggs open.

One of the other reasons I change it up is because I don't want to lose too many coins. Lost around 3 million over TOTY, probably bought at a bad time.

Every weekend

Anytime there is a flux in the market and/or I don’t need it for an event

sell once you have depth, you can also break off old players into a strict team theme if youre too sentimental or they are bnd/low worth players

I never sell my team but usually hold off for big promos to drop card prices to upgrade. 

Halloween/Christmas/Playoff/Easter/summer if there is one.

What price points are those who don't sell their team buying players at? 

Isn't it frustrating that cards constantly drop in value?

My team is mostly free. I may add an LTD from time to time, but with all the "free" cards we get I rarely have anything worth selling.

Unfortunately that is result of EA actually providing a lot of content. The last 3-4 years of MUT we been getting steady drops 4-5 days a week. Trust me, you will hear a lot more gripes in this forum if EA produced less. You will get the "EA is LAZY" . . if they provided new cards and it was NOT  better and greater than previous cards you get "Card is TRASh, EA is LAzy".

Unfortunately the MUT community is conditioned to a point where they need the new cards or they get "bored".

I've played both games and the AH depreciation happens on both.  FIFA is just worse when it comes to bots manipulating every card over 1k in the auction house, you aren't upgrading as often because the bots are a manipulating prices 24x7 by auto-buying every discounted card, listing higher with low bids, then shill-bidding on their own expiring sales to set a floor on prices and prevent price discovery.  End result, the cards you want to upgrade to are always listed 50-100+ deep on the FIFA/FC auction house at basically the same price, and you lose 100% of the bids you make that aren't at 90-95% of the buy-it-now prices...so you keep your team for months.

Card prices drop over time, yet nobody other than the bots finds any good deals.  I know it sounds conspiracy-minded, but the AH activity on FIFA will cause so many tears when it migrates to Madden...and it WILL migrate to Madden, the more Football is pushed to the international markets.  Two saving graces of Madden is the 10% tax (vs. 5% tax on FIFA/FC, which empowers the shill-bidding) and not having the hacker culture fan base that some countries (i.e. Netherlands) have.

Back to card depreciation over time...
First example I looked at is below shows the pricing decline happens on the same time scale.  Just multiply Madden coins by 5x and the charts are nearly identical.  

Believe it or not, the way the market works there are people who sell their teams weekly or even more frequently.  Time out of the market is one way to minimalize the depreciation.  Mentality is  "why take losses while sleeping and at work."
