Working my way through H2H. I have now played two opponent's who previously finished in the top 100 (can tell by their uniforms.) Each game after the second snap, the game completely freezes and there is nothing I can do but back out, and I get a loss each time. Is this a new desync glitch that is being exploited?

Its probably due to the top 100 uniforms. I know there was a similar glitch in season 2 that caused desyncs due to the jerseys and people stopped using them. However, the games didn't count for both parties.
