Can't activate a 3rd defensive X factor

• I have removed everyone from my defense who had previously had an x factor.
• Currently this game will not allow me to refund abilities/X factors

• I only have 2 X factors enabled and everytime I try to activate a 3rd it gives me an error that I can't exceed 3

  Any Ideas would be helpful, thanks in advance

I always see this happen, The third past x factor you had just equip it and deactivate it and it should start working. sorry if this does not make as much sense.

I have tried that in an attempt to get a 3rd active and it still gives me the same error even when I deactivate everyone and try reactivating them in a different order.

Try this: 
1. Remove players from your lineup that previously had X-factors on them. 
2. Activate the X-factor on the new player.
3. Re-insert the player that you previously removed from the lineup.

This is a decent work around -- i got stuck and bumped up against this buggy ass shit just a couple weeks back.  I tried and tried, but could not get any combination of players to work.  What ultimately resolved it, was finding and locating the PREVIOUS player i had in my lineup, with an active X-factor.  It just happened to be Vernon Davis (SS), but i struggled to locate it, as i had refunded the 100 Training (received 90) from the X-factor, so it wasn't initially available for me to view, or understand who/what/where that mysterious X-factor was.

So I did this once again but this time I went as far as removing them from my lineup and refunding all upgrades while in the binder.  Doing this allowed me to activate a 3rd factor but when attempting to leave the lineup screen it pops the same error: "INVALIDF LINEUP WARNING Exceeded the maximum of 3 players with X-Factors enabled for the Defensive lineup."
