How do i make sure im able to keep my team when i upgrade from old gen to next gen

Are you upgrading from ps4 to ps5 or old gen xbox to next gen xbox. You can't keep your team if you switch platforms, as I painfully realized yesterday. But you will be able to keep your team if you just upgrade generations and sign in with the same EA account that you used on the old gen console.

You just have to sign in with the same account on your next gen console. 
 

You can actually play both versions on your new console, but there are a few limitations on solo battles and H2H as you have to pick which version for that week. When I first switched over, I would occasionally play the PS4 version for some challenges and solo battles.
