do flat, mid, and deep zone ko's do anything once universal coverage is activated?

Yeah they aren't needed once universal is activated. I personally run universal on my cb and have learned from in game experience. Universal will do knockouts and better coverage.

You are wasting AP but it depends when your Universal Coverage is going to be active.

If you're using a DB like Woolen's Combine card where it takes 9 plays to activate, you could be rightful in using the AP. On someone like Asomugha, which I'm using myself, where it takes 4 plays, I wouldn't bother with the AP.
