A friend of mine came into town this weekend and started playing with my team. He’s much better at Madden then I am.. long story short: he won the Super Bowl on his first try. Now he’s gone and I can’t win any H2H games.. and it seems like the competition has gotten much, much better!!
Is that how the H2H games are set up? If you win a Super Bowl does it up all of your competition?
Not officially, but yah I think it does.
I would also say that it depends on when I play, for instance if I play on a weekday at 1:00 pm EST, your competition field is probably going to be more difficult, whereas if you play at 6:00 pm EST, more players will be on which will give a wider range of opppenants
My understanding is that mut uses an elo rating system for mut. In elo, everyone is given a rating to start say 1000. When you win, you gain rating points so you might get 100 for winning a game now have a rating of 1100. Likewise you lose rating points when you lose a game so losing a game might bring you back down to 1000. Now, how many points you gain/lose is usually determined by the difference between your rating and your opponent's rating. The game should try to match you up with opponents of a similar skill level. You're probably playing with an inflated rating. In a true elo system, a player who is properly rated should win about 50% of their games. But I kinda doubt madden wants that as their goal as way more players would be around 50% then.
Short answer, if you keep losing games you should eventually start playing opponents closer to your true skill level.

I remember MUT18 where I won 13 straight games MUT24 nowhere win than 3 straight miss 18 casual players
As you win games you increase in compet and most likely get promoted to the next level so yes it does become increasingly harder
EA, along with plenty of other developers (Call of Duty's probably the other worst offender), actively use systems to screw players over based on how good or bad you are, all to try and keep you playing the game. EA's taken this and been using DDA for almost a decade now, on top of making the game so messed up that Timmy No Thumbs can get enough fluke and DDA that he gives vastly superior players trouble.

It's insane how many people don't believe in DDA or that EA has something going similar to reward LTD cheese players or increase your probability of buying packs when they hit you with losing streaks. If you play enough it's so incredibly obvious. I think the majority of people that try to say "it must be a skill issue" are those types of cheesers that's egos would be destroyed if they realized they're not as good at madden as they think.
