Now, let me start by saying that there are good and enjoyable things of Madden. Its not all bad. However, there are things that need work and are a constant annoyance year after year in the title.
While some may say "stop complaining or dont play the game", well, that is an easy cop-out and nothing gets better unless you criticize and look to make something better....
.....Did inventors stop we when didnt have cell phones? No. They kept going until cell phones turned into a small, powerful computer that you can carry around anywhere.
With that said, its time to be critical of Madden and I'd like to hear some of your opinions on issues with the Madden video game.
Ill start:
1. WR going out of bounds on their routes
2. WR stopping their routes
3. Pulling Offensive lineman get lost and get in your way
4. Bad pursuit angles or even NO pursuit by defenders
5. Players running by the ball when there is a fumble
6. After an interception, at times it seems the opposing player has a player that is 20x faster and just gets sucked right into tackling you.
7. When intercepting a ball in the end zone, the game trys its hardest to automatically make you take it out of the endzone, which makes you have to start at the 1-yard line. I do my best to spam "x" to sit down. Sometimes its works, sometimes it doesn't. Anyways, how about we let the user decides if they wanna try to take it out of the endzone?
8. Similar to number 7 in a way, but on offense Madden tries its best to get you tackled at the 1-yard line. Whether its a longer pass or run, they do their best to get you down at the 1-yard line a lot of the time. This is clearly coded into the game.
Madden game code gives it an obsession with the 1-yard line and its designed this way to increase engagement and attention.
Easy to see
9. Gifted touchdowns or great field position to players. off of Kick Returns. Ive noticed when I am up by two scores the game gives my opponent great blocking on a kick return and potentially a touchdown. At the least it gives them great field position. Gotta keep the losing player interested. I've noticed this so much when I am up by two scores that I wish I could kick the ball out of the back of the endzone, but my kicker can't do that. When I am up two scores, I just tell myself to get ready to see the game do some wild stuff to let my opponent back into the game and feel good about themselves. This is most games, but not all.
10. Secondary player and defenders abandoning their coverage assignment or just plain not reacting. I have several clips of my players just running completely away from what they're supposed to do.
11. Slow menus.
Menus are in the "program tab" on the set and auction house screen are not alphabetically sorted.
On the auction house you cannot sort OVR by a single card overall. Example: to find a 93 you have to have 92s mixed in as it is sorted as 92-93 in the "quality tab". Cant we just sort by what OVR we want and not have to climb through a bunch of 92s to get to the cheapest 93?
12. Players abilities being nerfed
13. Over throws and under pressure throws for no reason
Anyways, this post was made to hopefully have EA work on these things and was meant as positive criticism to hopefully have some change going forward.
