Sorry if somebody has already brought this up.
But it's so obvious now why they didn't give us many cards worth having for the free agency promo. They don't want us to be able to use free agency promo to improve our theme team OVR.
If we can build a strong OVR theme team with free agency, We won't need any of the other cards they bring out moving forward.
That also explains why they moved up to 98 OVRs right away.

spot on. its becoming very clear that they are actively trying to sabotage our existing chems/teams because at this point there’s not much upgrading to be done with the strength of certain themes and the ability boosts we get from them, and they need people to keep spending money.

So many amazing changes to teams, and EA decided to pretend nothing ever happened. Also, how did the most sought after free agent end up with the 94 OVR?
I'm not saying Cousin's deserves a 97 or '98 card. Or that anybody wants to use that card in Madden. I'm just saying it's pretty alarming that he was the most talked about free agent and he ended up with a 94. It's pretty laughable!!!

I wouldn't say Kirk was the most sought after but Barkley and him should've had 97s
Maybe so, but they have been doing their own thing and zigging where we expect a zag all year some of the moves make little sense logically like omitting certain players from FA.

Let me rephrase.
Kirk was not heavily sought after. But there did seem to be an ESPN/NFL 24-hour clock on him. waiting for what was going to happen

Ya, also why they removed/restricted the Superbowl theme team from all these new AKA Crews drops, the SB theme team was just stupid overpowered... still easily second best in the entire game, behind only Combine. EA obviously doesn't play their own game, they shot themselves in the foot giving us premier content for once (or twice). I was initially half-joking when I said i'd probably still be using the SB hybrid TT in April or May, but now that time is upon us. Hella spoiled having 98-99 SPD across all skill position players for nearly 2 months now and no expectation that i'll be moving on anytime soon.
Unless / until Ring of Honor or something drops and truly pushes the meta forward. For now, none of these 98-99s are particularly good. I'd MUCH rather have a handful of 97 Reduxes, versus any of the latest 99s. YMMV, but once in a blue moon we luck out with how truly inept EA is.
