Does this year’s game feel like it’s hard to have a good NMS team?

Compared to previous years, I feel like this year it is so much harder to be NMS without nonstop grinding or spending tons of money.

Some notable differences which hurt NMS players compared to previous years...

1. X-Factor Centered Game and High AP Costs

-In past maddens, budget teams were a lot more possible since ability differences were not as insane... to run PA and DOZKO on a regular player w/o discounts costs 5 AP while some cards can run it for 1 or 2. Also all the insanely good cards with the really good broken X Factors cost upwards of 500k each. In general, they made it so that to get these good ability stacks and X-Factors it costs a lot more.

-They did this again by adding the Light It Up X Factor tokens to be bought in the store. This makes it so that you can only get these OP automatic X Factors if you are willing to spend.

2. LTDs quick selling for 350K and lower LTD odds

-In the previous couple of years, EA did a good job of making sure that LTDs always costed 300-350k because of their 250K quicksell value and somewhat higher pull rates. This year, the new LTDs always cost millions and are completely absurd. It was nice to get LTDs as rentals and not pay so much for the good cards. Now, it is so expensive to buy these LTDs, NMS or not.

3. BND cards from Champion Sets

-A great way for people to build teams without spending too much was getting back Hero cards as BND when making champion sets. This would make those cost a third of their original price which made them a lot easier to acquire. They removed that this year too which makes it a bit hard yet again to make a good team without spending money or too much time.

4. THE COMPANION APP IS HORRIBLE

-This one pisses me off the most. In past years, the way I was able to make millions was buying and selling on the companion app. Now, the app is so dysfunctional and unusable. We cannot snipe easily and we cannot sell cards from the companion. It feels like EA just doesn't care for people who do not spend money on the game. 

Let me know how you guys feel about this years Madden and how easy it is to build teams without spending at all or without spending much.

I don't think MUT is  P2W, you can run cheese with anyone. 

But I do agree there's a lot less opportunities for grind cards and a whole lot more store offers than I can ever remember

Have not played for many years...but it does not seem to be more pay to win this year then the previous years (that I played).  End of the day it will cost to have the best cards (which does not guarantee a win)...time or money.

I hadnt played since Madden 20, but they’re def shilling packs more than ever. 

This make or break’ year was for their bank account, not for the game itself.

I wouldn’t say P2W, since you can have all the top cards and play like trash.  but these $ 50+bundles  make it harder for NMS or casual players to keep up.

P2w was probably the wrong choice of words. I changed it to NMs

i haven’t played since 20 but they have officially made it P2W with the latest bundle with a free light it up token. Also you could say with them giving out AKA crews set tokens in the paid packs is also borderline P2W.

discounted and 0 ap abilties,  pre lit x factors and criminally LOW pack odds/ltd pulls have made this the most p2w mut ever, 3 cards for my steelers TT 5 million coin smh ( maxed out ward, plax, and blount) EA greedy rats

Well yea 💀 im saying for those of us who don’t wanna spend like 43 days on madden

I miss ltd rentals too  and couldn't agree more with app I can't even use it this year which used to be a nice way to grab cards or flip

I think not getting the return BND players from sets is the most noticeable. I have not spent a dime and have a 92 overall and 3.1 million in coin. Doesn't really seem that much harder to do besides what I first mentioned.

I'm in full-throated agreement with what you've said.

Program TTs are another aspect that is unfriendly to NMS players. For one they're very expensive. Plus they're usually by far the best team you can have in terms of raw attributes often with some of the best abilities.

Also I think it's fair to call mut p2w. Yes, having a god squad doesn't mean you automatically win but it sure gives you the best chance to win all the dice rolls that matter. It's undeniable players who spend money have an advantage at obtaining the best cards. If having the best cards didn't matter, the mcs players wouldn't spend so much money getting them.

I feel like it is. As a NMS I have terrible luck in pulling cards when I do buy packs. Today I bought 4-5 mystery packs and got 2 gold player packs! Those should be removed! Especially considering that I rarely make much training points, it sucks. Another thing is whenever you complete a challenges thing, you get a BND player that isn’t a champion and can’t even use them in a set, which sucks. To me it’s pay to win and I won’t do that.
