Thinking about running 3 free lurk artist LBs (Warner, Allen, Lewis) good idea or bad idea? And what formations would be best?

Truthfully I don’t know much about defense lol. Usually I just pick random shit until I find something that works and favorite it, but I’d like to get better (that’s also not really the point here). I’ve been doing my best to get better as a MLB user, and I’ve gotten decent.   

I currently have Allen and Warner, but I was thinking about getting Lewis and making the middlenof the field a nightmare to pass on.   

however, I don’t really know what the pros and cons would be, or what would really be the total best way to utilize those 3 guys and have all of them on the field at the same time, as often as possible…so I’d love some pointers and thoughts from people who know more than me.

If you have the coins, 3 free lurk artists means you can use more zone kos on dbs which is what you would want to do with your setup.  Depends on the formations you run on whether or not you need more than 2 free lurk artists though.   If you're in a lot of nickel, dime, dollar,  you're fine with 2.

If you're running a lot of 4-3, 3-4, 46, 44 split you want 3 lurk artists.

Run 4-3 even 6-1 in that case

Even if you dont have them all on the field at once you can always rotate players in and out. That’s what I do. The players are too good to get rid of and the ability is free so I just put them in at different times depending on the situation or w\e

6-1 is still pretty good yet. You can user Lewis with his Avalanche X-Factor, then have Allen and Warner on the outside

4-3 Even 6-1 has some pretty decent options for running LurkArtist (x3), the setup isn't that difficult.  Can convert to double-mabel out of this 4 Quarters formation.  Having Deep Out Zone KO abilities on both outside corners certainly doesn't hurt.  While I do not have Ray Lewis (or any Cover Atheletes), i've been using both Fred Warner & Josh Allen with great success.  Heck, even the freebie Ted Hendricks gets a 1AP LurkArtist if all else fails, you could try to fill in some gaps with that.

I also enjoy throwing in a random Sam Will Blitz out of the same 4-3 Even 6-1 formation (Base formation, pinch D-line, slant D-line the direction your 5th pass rusher is coming from, so in this image we'd Crash/Slant Left).  Because of this blitz, i often turn off Auto Alignment, so I can force a specific edge rusher, whoever has the highest pure pass rush stats, such as block shedding, strength, power/finesse moves, etc.

There's some pro-adjustments i haven't really mastered just yet, but we could potentially run Josh Allen on the D-line and then proceed to USER him from a 4 down-lineman set, such as Dime... thereby getting some of the advantages of AI controlled defense / pass rush (i believe this directly impacts the blitz/block shed timers, but don't quote me on that, i'm still learning) while having 8 defenders drop back in coverage.  Not sure if any of what i said made sense, but good luck!  You got this.  Defense is extremely difficult this year.

As mentioned above, the 6-1 formation is only formation you should be running where you're using 3 Lurk Artist guys. For many reasons:

1. It provides the best "natural" pass rush in the game because you can isolate the center very easily and get 4 1v1 matchups with your pass rushers. There are also several "glitchy" things with this formation where sometimes guys will come unblocked. So that's the first reason, you can rush 4 and still get lots of good pressure.
2. It stops the run VERY well and allows your user to truly pursue and make plays.
3. Allows your OLB's to naturally be in a "lurk" position on LoS and then drop into their zones, which more frequently triggers Lurk Artist. 
4. By default, this formation shows pressure on both edges, making it easy to disguise coverage vs. blitz

The only other formation I would recommend is the Nickel 3-3 if you're trying to play a pure coverage defense, and just FYI the only playbook that has both the 6-1 and Nickel 3-3 is the Chiefs playbook.

If you're looking for cheap options to fill in while you wait for the more expensive guys:

Look for guys who are 6'5 or taller (Josh Allen, Terry Tate, jack Campbell, or Ted Hendricks) who have Lurk Artist to play on the outside, as you'll need LOTS of height with Lurk Artist to cover the most ground.

MLB just look for linebackers who are fast (Jack Campell, Josh Allen, Luke Kuechly, there are tons of options here for cheap or free!).

I think it really depends on how you play (style) and who you play. 6-1 can get beaten pretty badly by a player who knows how to pass the ball well. Even with lurk artists. I have LTD Ray, LTD Warner, Josh Allen, Hendricks, and a few others but I never really run that 6-1 that a lot of YouTubers and streamers run

When I run Nickel or Big Nickel G I will usually have 1 LA and 1 Safety at SubLB. I will swap a CB like Calvin at 6'5" in at deep safety and sometimes I will even drop back Peppers or Too Tall into a curl or hard flat but then I have to have someone else rush the QB and a Lurk Artist player is a waste...Joish Allen can't pass rush for example

You don't find them clunky? At this point with cards like Tyreek running around even with a good user those cards could get beat just because of low COD, speed, agility

I guess I don't really notice because I'm so used to it and I can usually change directions pretty well. And if you're only playing zone and have a good idea of route concepts you don't have to do too much I don't feel like. Usually I'm running straight back to a spot or having to change directions once and then my pass rush gets home

3 lurk artists in nickel 3-3 is insane, I run tampa 2 put 2 yellow zones in purples w/ lurk artist and it's pretty crazy.

Well lurk artists light up even if you're not useeing them so you're fine anyway. Stork is still intimidating in the middle
