This game is really pissing me off

Once again, it's the defense. I just can't seem to stop anything. I'm using more man coverage but even that isn't enough and after awhile, it gets burned. I'm out of answers and i'm getting burnt out dealing with a shootout every single game and sometimes i just don't have it in me to put up 40+. I might just have to switch to a more manage the clock style and barely give my opponent the ball because nothing else is working.

This might just be the worst Madden ever when it comes to defense. If you watch your team on defense, you see all kinds of crazy shit. You'll see guys running into each other, you'll see guys taking bad angles and running past the ball carrier, guys standing there or running the opposite way, players with Pick Artist dropping wide open picks, zones not playing their zones and instead just watching the fucking play.

It's a shitshow out there and it's getting really tiring to deal with.

Do you watch mcs at all? even the pros aren't getting stops. DBs just watch the ball go by, they drop everything. Madden 22 defense was also really really bad, but the jukes weren't as overpowered, and I think the pursuit angles are the most egregiously frustrating thing I've ever seen. In no level of football are you taught to miss inside and force them outside away from your help (unless your the lone man standing and sideline is really close by). So ya, worst defensive madden yet. Zones definitely very traffic cone like. I definitely get burned out quick, when i have games that are super high scoring, or if I have a really clutch victory I find myself wanting to end on a high note. 

The best thing to do imo until we get another patch is to play aggressive between the 20s, I get more stops when I force 2nd, 3rd and long. In the redzone I play all out coverage. even from base defenses I like top drop 8 into coverage. try to force them to take 3 it's basically as good as getting a stop. Then offensively ball control, hold the ball 3-4 minutes at a time, people make mistakes when they feel pressed for time. Do your best to score or have the ball to end the half, so if you get ball you can double dip if you get ball or prevent them from doing so. End the game with the ball or as close to it as possible. anything over 20 seconds seems like enough time to score. It's tough but the best defense this year is conservative offense.

Yea, i was thinking about that too. Like a bend don't break defense. It's harder to move the ball inside the 20 anyway so you're right, that might be the key this year. I'll definitely have to switch it up tho.

I've stopped playing H2H for now, it's just too frustrating.

I was honestly surprised at how little they were stopping last night. Fully agree with you.

Defense now is just bizarre. As you guys said the defenders just don’t do anything. Unless you user it or the opponent makes a horrendous throw you get no turnovers. Very little pass rush. I think the most annoying thing for me is receivers catch literally everything, in traffic, being hit sticked, they just come down with it.

Bingo. Best defense is a good offense that manages the clock. They can't score if their offense is off the field and you don't turn the ball over. Absolutely nothing wrong with 2nd and 6, 3rd and 4 and barely getting the first down.

Yeah. I drop 7, 8 everytime. Make them snap it again. 95% of players will make a mistake if you continue to keep the ball in front of you and don't give up the big play. Players are impatient.

definitely a premium on getting a two-for-one at the end of the half and getting the ball back.  I'm almost exclusively in zone but use match a lot.  m2m seems far too vulnerable given the lack of consistent pass rush.  more coverage, send 5 occasionally and see if the other guy can out scheme you.

Match it’s 100x better than man unfortunately. It still busts on occasion vs bunch streak/corner combo but a hook curl matching an rb wheel will actually cover it every time unlike man.

^^^this, we get shamed for it sometimes but there’s nothing wrong with enjoying team building and playing the cpu. Sometimes I do it just so I don’t have to play vs “meta“ bs. Playing vs bunch offset and tight slights every play gets old.
