Is it worth buying old gen madden 24?

I have been asking myself the question above a lot lately, and I was wondering if anyone has seen and old gen gameplay madden 24 videos. Either that or any leaks or game play details showing to the monstrosity of Old gen madden 23 will get any better in the next year.

Currently I’m not buying madden 24 just wondering if someone knows something I don’t.

I mean i have ps5 but im gonna play old gen alot cuz new gen overheats my ps5, same old Sony

I would assume it plays very similar to old gen 23. Haven't watched all the content for 24 but I assume most of the creators who go it early are using the latest hardware

I played 23 on Old gen and just bought a series X about 10 days ago. I thought Old gen madden was really good but them leaving in the FG block glitch was just so disrespectful and I expect it will be in 24 also. It will be the same exact game on old gen as 23 was. Alot of players still play on old gen so mut will be alive and well. If I was still in old gen and wasn't going to upgrade to new gen then  I would buy Madden 24 but im a hardcore mut player but it will be the same game as 23 and it will probably have the FG glitch again.

@GrimReefer49 has it correct.  The old gen version of M24 will be largely the same as M23 from a gameplay perspective.  The menus and other content is the only thing getting updated.  

That said, the old gen M23 gameplay is far superior to the "casualized" version of the game on current gen.  I've now played enough of both versions of the game to draw that conclusion.  On current gen, all aspects of offense are easier because usering on defense is much more sluggish and the DBs do not act like they are psychic.  Some players like this more and say the player movement is more realistic.  

To each their own.  I know the days of old gen are behind us.  I'll either need to quit playing MUT for good... or make the move to the new console (which I have owned for quite some time now).  But with less than 24 hours until the new game releases... I still haven't decided if this is the year I finally switch.

For what it's worth, the FG Block exploit on old gen is not that big of a deal since it can be largely countered (not stopped) by subbing in the left-footed punter Scottish Hammer for extra points and FGs inside the 34 yard line.  I think the fact that kicks can actually be blocked adds a bit more drama and strategy to games on old gen versus current gen where they are automatic from inside the 50 yard line.

Old gen madden is absolutely terrible. I don't see who anyone who has next gen willingly plays it.

Other than the FG block exploit... what makes the game (MUT 23) bad in your opinion... or worse than the game on current gen?  I'm truly curious.  

I'll tell you three things I don't like on current gen:

1.  The user movement is far too sluggish.  In my opinion, they have really closed the skill back with this coding decision.  You can no longer bait good players into throwing lurked picks.  You can no longer take away multiple routes on one play... (for example... covering a HB angle route and handing him off to peel back and cover a crosser or dig route going the other way.

2.  High point passes are too OP... you can literally chuck the ball up to a covered receiver and chances are they will come down with it.

3.  CPU DBs play zone coverage very poorly.  Forget about high point passes... it is far to easy to pass the ball on current gen.

Again... (in my opinion)... EA has tailored the game towards beginners on current gen.

I really like old gen Madden alot but after playing new gen its like a breath of fresh air. The thing about them needing user control is it also helps you out on offense along with your opponent but my point is its something we all have to adapt to. Its nice not having a super user who can literally zoom all around The field or going against a running attack where the rb falls forward 5+ yards. I like old gen madden but I also like new gen version as well. Plus im pretty much new to this new gen Madden so I like all the new animations and the whole set up. MUT is pretty much the same on both gens. Old gen madden is definitely underrated and a really good game and alot of players are still there so you'll enjoy it alot no doubt.

At this point man I’m not buying madden. It’s not worth the frustration knowing that it won’t be better. I don’t like the way old gen plays whatsover and I don’t run cheese plays or coverage beaters and I can’t do anything. I feel that if you can’t just move down field by making simple reads and playing casually then I don’t wanna play. I think what it comes down to is that no matter what old gen does if you can’t throw the ball near the sideline without a coverage beater or a defender coming from 30 yards away and picking the ball then it’s never gonna be playable.
