How important is play rec/awareness

Hello, I am wondering how important play rec and awareness is to dbs/sublbs? i am running a vike tt and was thinking about switching to all the tall dbs but I would lose my 99 play rec on my corners. So my question is are the new tall dbs worth losing 99 stats across the board? I have Parham and calvin (as FS) should i continue with carmicheal and hendricks etc? Thx.

currently have parham and moss outside. Turner and Hayes slot. Calvin fs. Jpj ss. And Kearse and ward as sublb.

Any suggestions or critiques would be greatl  appreciated. Brutal honesty please

The way I understand it PRC helps the defender recognize things like play action and option plays.

AWR helps the defender with ball awareness. They will identify where the ball is going when it leaves the QB’s hand, this helps a lot more with a DB’s reaction timing to defend passes and also helps in run defense recognizing where the ball carrier is going.

Yeah I honestly don’t think everyone thinks AWR is as important as I do. It’s just my opinion from years of experience looking at different attributes and trying out tons of players.

I think that play rec on DBs is more important than awareness. Play rec is what helps the DB react to passes that go near them. For example if the ball is thrown poorly then a DB with higher play rec will react quicker and get to the ball for an INT. Awareness is also important but if I had to choose I’d go play rec

Not trying to argue here as I certainly don’t have all the answers.

I imagine the players you’re referring to also have low AWR. What I’ve noticed from running strategy cards on DB’s that increased PRC to 99 but not AWR it didn’t seem to change how the players react. Now that I have several players with 99 AWR they react much better in the same schemes covering the same routes.

Ok thanks. Basically I wondering if I should replace Hayes who has 99s or go with carmicheal or someone like that who is taller and newer but only has 95 prc  and awareness

I always heard that play rec only matters at how a player will recognize that a play is a running play. IDK we really can only assume what alot of these ratings really mean but the past few years ive heard play rec is about how fast a defender can recognize a running play.

I don’t know it’s possible I don’t have all the answers either just from personal experience but maybe your right ill have to do further experimentation.

I’d prob go with carm because of his height and 2 0ap abilities. After 95 play Rex will make no diff really so go with the stronger player which is in this case, carmichael

Isn't it amazing that this game has been going nearly 30 years and no one has the first clue what any of the stats mean?

I've always wondered about SPD. Is 99 SPD the same on every player? Because my 99 SPD LB's often cant keep up with 99 SPD TE's?

And what about STR on Lineman? Is an OL with 99RBK but 90STR better or worse than a player with 90RBK but 99STR? No one knows for sure and you have to wonder why EA don't tell anyone.
