Discussion About OOP Overalls

When you put a CB at FS, it lowers his overall. When you put a LT at RG, it also lowers his overall. Most people in these forums will tell you that they play exactly the same playing OOP despite their overall being lowered. There really isn’t any way of proving this right or wrong.

When you put a Kicker at Punter or vice versa, their overall is drastically lowered. The best kicker In the game, Legatron, is lowered to a 59 OVR when put OOP at punter even though his stats stay the same. However, during gameplay, Legatron plays like a 59 OVR when at punter. His kick power and kick accuracy are significantly worse.

So, would this rule also apply to other players when not playing their natural position? Again, I don’t think there’s enough of an overall decrease to really see a difference in play. Something to think about though.

I'm pretty sure some of the Madden pro's will play some players OOP and always have historically for instance playing LT at DE or at DT or a fast OLB at DE/DT especially at the start of the year. You could test it out by putting a RT at RG in practice mode and seeing if he plays any worse and stuff like that. I'm pretty sure OOP overalls don't really matter much but I'm not an expert at how this game is coded. Some players are probably putting GT Peppers at CB or BB Chad at CB. I seen some put comp pass Porter at FS to save 1ap instead of BB Chad. I never really understood EA's OOP logic cause the players attributes remain the same. Same speed,strength,agility....etc no matter what position you move them to but their ovr may go down?

Yeah, there doesn’t seem to be a difference when playing guys OOP. I guess we’ll never know the logic/formula that EA uses to determine OOP overalls and OOP attributes in gameplay. I just bring it up because of how kickers are nerfed at punter and punters are nerfed at kicker.
