Basically everyone I run in to is running Edge Protector, now I feel like the 6ap I have on Lawrence Taylor and A. Donald is sorta a waste.
should I just give up on this combo and spread those 6 points into my DBs?

Have DON and ET on Bruce and Mario and even if opponent is running EP, I will get in pretty damn fast with that combo. I only like to rush 4 so I guess it’s scheme dependent though. Just keep in mind if opponent isn’t running EP on both tackles they’ll have like 2 seconds lol
I did it.
As you pointed out, basically everyone now have edge protector/secure protector at a great discount, no worth it anymore to spend 6 ap's on defense and then pray your opponent doesn't have the counters.
I used to run DoN+ET, it was beautiful, but I do think it's just time to move on.
Better use free abilities on d-linemen and then spread all the ap's on your db's.

Same here, but i'm running DoN and ET on Demarcus Ware and Dorance Armstrong for a total of 5AP. To me it's still worth it because i rotate their positions throughout the game to reset o-line resistances. I still have enough AP left over for my secondary, so i'm gonna keep rocking it. i'm also not in the very top bracket, like 3rd one i think, so i'm not facing the best of the best.
I run nothing but free abilities on my defensive line. You can have 5 secure protectors on the o-line for 5 AP at this state. I do use legendary bull rush so I have 6 defensive lineman with close to 99 bsh, pmv and FMV that I rotate around every few plays. I put all AP on CBs, safeties and sub lbs.
