When is a card worth an upgrade?

There's been a lot of talk about EA recycling cards, and that has made me question when is a card worth an upgrade?

Note: poll is between last card's highest to their new highest. Example: Steve Young is a 3 overall difference (93 All-Madden to 96 Playoffs)

I think Thresholds/abiltities/discounts are the biggest factors.

I havent looked at Youngs abilities/discounts yet but if they are that much better/end game then yeah its good but I would rather them cycle older ones. Theres still a handful of 89-91s they havent done but theyre recycling 92-94 already. Take bettis for example, hes one of the heaviest rb in the league. He still has a base 89 with nothing on it. Id rather him get a 98+ at this point as his next upgrade but hed be the best power back with free Bruiser and 1 ap tank. Or on the D side, Deacon Jones could get ETE/DON for 1 AP total at this point.

Exactly! There's also 89 Andre Reed, Mike Vrabel, Bruce Matthews, and Steve Montana that all need upgrades

Yeah those are just the 89s. Theres still 90/91 and then 92s etc that could get it before we recycle Revis a month later. 

At least we dont have Reed every program and position again.

I think it's not important to always get the best players, it's just about abilities. I always let my Oline fall behind my other players, not because they aren't important but if I have good abilities then that 2 ovr won't make a huge difference. I think qb and rb are the positions I cycle through the most but it's more important to have a 94 QB with hrm and gunslinger then the 96 denard.

Omfg that Ed Reed haunted Madden 22. It was actually like wtf. 16 different Ed Reed cards, and I counted 3 times to confirm.

Yea oline falls behind for me in general. Once I got 90+ RBK and PBK idk about oline. However, that new Hilgenberg with free post up. May scoop. And I want to get a few nasty streaks on my guards for running. Haven't changed off Kenneth Walker since his release, and I'm liking Bledsoe so far

Yeah I just built a legends TT so oline is kinda random I have the 93 Saturday at center but I'm going to sell him to get what little I can before I get the hilgenberg with the free post up. As long as I'm not getting sacked everyplay I don't work a lot on Oline, I usually use the BND players I get from completing master sets as fillers.

Wdym 7? Even if I remove the legend pieces and the LTD legend and his UL redux it still doesn't add up in my head
