If you get LTD Jordan Mailata, he gets the Tackle Surge chem. He goes for 3 million right now.
EA did a horrible job with this program; it's nothing like last year where you could get some solid items without too many coins. Having acquired all of the LTD's in MUT 24, I was able to get something like +6 speed with the three motivator chems maxed out at 5/5, total overkill.
This year I just don't see a clear path to doing a lot with the chems. Apart from upgradable champions:
KO Surge gets three champions for 3 components
Passing Surge gets five champions for 5 components
Power Surge gets three champions for 3 components
Tackle Surge gets two champions for 2 components
As mentioned previously, the only BND-only option for any Surge Motivator is Larry Allen + Tim Tebow for Power Surge, arguably the least NMS-friendly motivator option. For everyone else, you need to win a token in House Rules or get a run in the super-sweaty House Rules. In no instance can you avoid the upgradable champions to max out a chemistry, and super-annoyingly, three of the four chemistries feature champions that collectively come up one component shy of the next tier.
Theme Team All-Stars showed clear indications of planning when it came to the motivator chems (even if there were some unfortunate gaps when it came to the upgradable champions). Theme Team Surge does not give any evidence of planning. Just a bunch of boosts thrown under various categories.
Most unfortunately, any option that involves maxing out two motivators for a total +4 to any one theme team's SPD attribute runs through the Passing Surge option. Later I'll be looking for the best combination of less-than-max Surge chemistries that might be more useful given the high attributes natively on items at this stage.

I used Tebow and Allen plus 1 Jaguar for a total of +4 in power boost. The I used 2 more Jags for +4 to the KO boost. And lastly I used CJ2K and bought the Steve Smith for like 430k to have a +2 on the passing boost. not terrible and only having to purchase one of the H2H cards.

Ty Peatrick! Are the boost even worth the coins? Does it make a difference?
With the guys from my theme team, having all ltds, all 3 house rules guys, allen, Tebow and cj i have 19 boosts. I have 5/6, 5/6, 5/6 and 4/6. Can't max them all out even with all available cards

Last year division dynasty came out with the chems. Hopefully they do something like that this year.

Honestly? No, there's barely any stats that matter right now, just match up abilities to areas of the field and go nuts. I feel silly wasting ANY effort on theme teams this late in the year.
If all your run blockers have Vanguard, it doesn't really matter if our guys have 94 or 98 IBL. Huge waste of coins, IMO. Just use the elite TT Surge players, regardless of actual theme team. Some are just clearly better, anywhere from six to ten total (out of 100+ cards) are very, very good.
Hasaan Reddick, Joe Flacco, etc. I just picked up JJ McCarthy to try out.

JJ is awesome. I sold Drake for him. And I am clearly a big vikes fan haha. Almost my whole defense is tt surge players. Who else to try...

I would say i just don't understand how they made this program worse but they always find ways man.....previous years were better.

I do feel that if you can get heavier defensive linemen and outside linebackers to 99 SPD and 99 ACC, it can be advantageous against the scrambling quarterbacks. Ever since I got Ed Too Tall Jones to 99 SPD, I get many more sacks on rollouts and the dumb serpentine retreats, but I don't sacrifice ground against the run.

O-line isn't free, but not terribly expensive! Especially today. IF you have the 5AP to spare. Big Q Golden Ticket will reduce that ability point cost by two.

Alright so I just picked up Darnell Washington. Better than alt I'm assuming but why? He's 1 inch shorter also. And better to have too tall at SS and Washington at FS? And also Larry Allen doesn't get vanguard. And what do you mean by Big Q GT reducing cost by 2? I had faalele but sold. Maybe I'll grab him again

Kinda out of the price range for a lot of players. Roughly 7.3 million for the lot. Sapp is the only one I've got, and he has been solid.
Of course, if someone is trying to buy Theme Team Surge LTD's to max out the speed of 95-97 SPD players, they probably could instead do exactly what you described here.

I tried to revise my above message to make it slightly more clear. Just gave you a fairly inexpensive method to get four out of five O-line players, all with Vanguard at a total of 5AP, leaving 4 for JJ.
If you need to gain those two extra ability points back you can replace the Combine version of big Q (Quenton Nelson) at LG with his Golden Ticket version, then you'll have elite O-line play at anywhere from 3-5AP. But Combine card is cheap and boosts the rest of your line.
